With their roots stemming deeply from South Africa, Imperative PR artists The Medea Project are extremely honoured and proud to be announced as part of the metal4africa SummerFest ’21 line-up. Taking place on the 30th January 2021, they will be ‘sharing the screen’ with some of the best bands on South African soil.
With humble beginnings as a gig directory on MySpace in the mid 2000’s, metal4africa is getting ready to host their 14th year of the metal4africa festivals. Their mantra being “a place for friendship and metal”, they focus on the South African Metal Community as a whole and sometimes with guests from other African states.Twice a year, they host the most beloved festivals in the land and feature some of the best bands across the country together with alternative artists, designers and merchants at these shows in Cape Town.
With the onset of Covid19 in 2020, metal4africa’s WinterFest ’20 was held as an online event. With the success of WinterFest ’20 and no certainty around further Covid-19 restrictions, they have decided to host SummerFest ’21 as an online event as well.
SummerFest ’21 will consist of a real-time stream, broadcast via Twitch.TV. This will accomodate free-of-charge viewing to anybody looking for a high quality audio/visual experience. The public can also sign on to the event’s Discord server and enjoy chatting about the stream, engaging directly with artists and/or merchants and other personalities, or to check out additional items of content that may appear from within the community. There will be channels for text-based chats, video chats, and also channels dedicated to topics.
The Medea Project will be performing songs from their outstanding debut album, Sisyphus, which was given a 5/5 review by Mayhem Radio…
“Every time I listen to this album I get something new, have different attachments to each song but still with the same end results this a strong debut and it’s something I’m going to be playing many years down the road.”
