Ingridi Verardo is a Brazilian singer who has been surrounded by music since birth, with her mother singing Janis Joplin and Black Sabbath during pregnancy. Growing up among family musicians, Ingridi had her first band still in high school, at age 12, playing covers that were popular at the time.
After performing with local bands Ingridi moved to Ireland, where she studied harp and took singing lessons with the award-winning soprano Ioana Pipelea. Along with her musical studies, Ingridi acted in movies, in the Irish soap opera Fair City, and in the TV series Penny Dreadful. Upon returning to Brazil, Ingridi started studying in the college music course, and participated in musicals such as Les Misérables and Cats.
Influenced by symphonic metal, opera, anime and musicals, Ingridi is recording her first solo album, which will receive the title “Imperfection”, an allusion to the fragility and experience of recording an album for the first time. The album will have eight tracks and will address personal themes from the singer’s life. It is being recorded with the production, mixing and mastering by Roger Fingle, who has worked with several bands in the rock and metal scene in Brazil.
“28 Days”, the album’s first single, has already been released, and was composed in one of Ingridi’s most difficult moments, when she spent 28 days in a hospital fighting for her life amid various surgeries and complications. In addition to drummer Kelvin Salvetti (As Do They Fall, Black Adder) and guitarist and bassist Samurai da Silva (As Do They Fall, Super Sonic Brewer), who will accompany Ingridi throughout the album, the track features vocalist Jennifer Poletto (Hatomic, Sweet Leaf) and keyboardist Landel Oliboni (Carnivorous Plant).
At the moment Ingridi Verardo is releasing “Read Between The Lines”, her second single, while finishing the recordings for “Imperfection“, which is expected to be released by the end of the year.
