Vänersborg based black metal group MURDRYCK unleashes the sophomore album, Födelsen. Available since May 01st via Leviaphonic Records on CD, cassette and digital formats, the album is expected to see its vinyl release around mid-June – early July via Growls From The Underground.
The guitarist Skärseld’s informs:
“Födelsen wasn’t too difficult an album to write but was hard to finish. Half the album was written as early as 2016 and the writing was essentially completed in 2017. The mixing took several weeks in 2018 and took two or three attempts until the album had the sound I was looking for. The album is, essentially, our rebirth. A new vocalist, and better songs than our debut, has given the band the start I was hoping for back in 2015. The album is simpler yet more complex; the songs more consistent yet varied; a 90s sound yet still modern and not dated. There are a lot of nuances to listen out for and everything has earned its place.”

MURDRYCK entered the black-metal fold in 2014 upon reshaping from a dark-ambient sound into a fast paced, aggressive guitar-oriented band.
The 2015 EP “As The Moon Bleeds…”, picked by Zero Tolerance Magazine as the “Self-Release of the Month”, catapulted the Swedish based three-piece to international exposure. The debut album, “Antologi MMXV”, came out a year later via Black Lion Records and received acclamation from both the listeners and the critiques alike despite the lack of strong promotional activities.
Murdryck began 2019 with their follow-up album, Födelsen, released on 1st May 2019 through Leviaphonic Records (CD, cassette and digital) and Growls From The Underground (vinyl). With many line-up changes affecting the band since inception, Murdryck have delivered a confident and aggressive album that takes their music to another level than seen on their debut release while still retaining their identity. “Födelsen” embodies a much heavier sound and offers a more sinister environment that was unexploited in the band’s previous outputs.
